Letter to Advisors & Delegates

Dear Delegates and Advisors,

Welcome to our new Model United Nations webpage. This webpage is designed to be more user friendly and we hope it will serve you as a great tool in preparing for the ECMUN 2012 High School Conference that will be held from January 27th to the 28th on Earlham College’s campus. So please, mark your calendars!

At this moment we are in the process of planning the conference and making sure that we provide yet another successful, interesting, and excellent simulation of the United Nations. By going to the “Conference 2012” link, you will be able to see a drop down menu that will be your main guide for the upcoming conference. It includes all the information about the registration process, conference schedule, committee information, and accommodation. The “Secretariat” link is there in order to familiarize yourself with our ECMUN team and chairs. The remaining links will provide you with the pictures from our previous conferences and the ability to contact us directly from within the web page. Please note that the “Contact Us” link provides a place where delegates will be able to upload and submit their resolutions and opening speeches to their chairs so that they can be reviewed and edited prior to the conference.

I personally believe that Model United Nation Conferences are life changing experiences especially here at Earlham where you can meet people from over seventy countries around the world. In addition, with today’s era of rapid globalization, the leadership, public speaking, creative, and personal skills you develop through active participation in MUN are invaluable for any career. Earlham College’s motto is “Engaging the World” — and that’s what we hope to have you do by taking an active role as a delegate representing a state other than your own.

Again, with the utmost enthusiasm, we invite you to our annual ECMUN 2012 High School Conference. If you have any further questions or comments, please “Contact Us.”
